Home Front
The Reference and Research Department served as an assembly point, providing inquirers, in many cases those working on the home front, with information and documentary material on matters of common interest to the United Nations. The department also maintained a library of materials on matters concerning the UN, which was open to public, maintained a collection of information on post-war planning agencies for distribution, and prepared and produced documentary publications.
Publications provided by UNIO had titles such as “The United Nations: Who They Are, What They Are Doing” and “The United Nations Today and Tomorrow.”
