We The Peoples of the United Nations
The goal of UNIO was to share public information on behalf of its Member States and showcase the work of the organization itself. This included collecting and disseminating information about their cooperative efforts and UNIO’s work, and serving as a center for discussion on questions of information of general and joint interest to the United Nations.
One of UNIO activities was to showcase the peoples and cultures of its Member States. A large number of surviving photographs, including the examples below, attest to the diversity of the populations which made up the United Nations. Frequently the individuals were portrayed in traditional costumes or working at various tasks towards a common goal.
